GUE-NGL delegation meets Arafat in Ramallah

Brussels, 22/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - A delegation of the European United Left/Nordic Greens Left (GUE-NGL) at the European Parliament, headed by its president Francis Wurtz, met Yasser Arafat, the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority, in Ramallah (West Bank) on Saturday. Mr Arafat thanked Europe "for its unanimous position in the U N General Assembly" and expressed his hope that Europe would now act "very quickly" in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
