ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) brewing

Belgian group INTERBREW has acquired the German SPATEN and its 70%-held subsidiary DINCKELACKER for a total sum of 477 million EUR. This acquisition allows INTERBREW to take first place on the German market with a volume of 15.6 million hectolitres (or 11% market share), ahead of HOLSTEIN (9.3%).
