COPA-COGECA calls for European agriculture to be defended in Cancun

Brussels, 11/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The World Trade Organisation (WTO) must take account of the fact that everywhere in the world farming plays a much more important role in society than other economic sectors and the co-existence of different models, meeting the range of different social, economic and geographical conditions is a necessity, stresses COPA-COGECA in its message to trade ministers, due to get down to tough negotiations in Cancun on Thursday.
