11/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the Chief Economist of the European Central Bank (ECB), Otmar Issing, criticised certain passages of the draft European Constitution, mainly that on the aim of price stability in the euro zone. Mr Issing explained when interviewed by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that he found it difficult to understand why one refuses to put price stability back in the catalogue of European Union targets.
