GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/broadcasting

11/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - The first European high definition television broadcasting will be unveiled on Saturday. Based in Belgium, Euro1080 will be broadcast by satellite and plasma screen (in cinemas and other public places). It will concentrate on sport and music, to get round linguistic barriers, say its designers, concentrating on big events. Euro1080 will start its broadcasts with a New Year concert live from Vienna.
