11/09/2003 (Agence Europe) - It is increasingly likely that most countries do not meet their budgetary targets for 2003, regrets the Europe Central Bank (ECB) in its monthly report of September, published on Thursday. The ECB recognises that the deterioration of budgetary balances essentially reflects less important growth than hoped, but it is concerned that countries presenting severe imbalances have not all introduced sufficient consolidation measures.
