Chris Patten appeals for setting up rfund for World Bank and Pnud managed recontruction fund

Brussels, 17/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - Emma Udwin, the European Commission spokesperson for external relations, confirmed on Wednesday that the information from the Financial Times on 16 July, according to which Chris Patten had appealed for the creation of a reconstruction fund for Iraq, for which the management would not be confined to the occupying powers (USA, UK) but open to multilateral organisations such as the World Bank and the United Nations development programme (Pnud).
