Euratom Treaty will remain outside Union Constitution - Greens and environmental defence NGOs are pleased

Brussels, 11/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Euratom Treaty no longer appears directly in the draft constitutional treaty and will remain a separate legal entity from the rest of the Union. The Greens Group at the European Parliament and the European environmental defence organisations are delighted with this result.

The Greens attribute this victory to the determined resistance by Austrian Green MEP Johannes Voggenhuber and that of the German Green member, Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer. A...
