11/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - A joint police operation by several European countries has led to the arrest of 38 people suspected of smuggling women and children into the EU to work as prostitutes, announced the European police body Europol on Friday. The operation was led by Greek security forces in collaboration with Italy, Spain and ten eastern European and Balkans states. Most arrests took place in Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Greece, following 134 investigations into 110 suspects.
