ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) insurance

The Swiss insurance firm WINTERTHUR (CREDIT SUISSE group) is to sell its insurance business arm in Italy to UNIPOL for the sum of EUR 1.46 billion. The activities of WINTERTHUR ITALY (1600 employed and 1.9 million clients) in the life and non-life sector amounted to a volume of EUR 2.04 billion in premiums in 2002.
