AER calls for greater reference to regional identity and subsidiarity

Brussels, 09/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is calling on Convention Members to make greater reference to regional identity and subsidiary in the draft Constitutional Treaty. Meeting in Brussels on Friday, the 50 members of the AER's political bureau called for the definition of subsidiarity to include a regional dimension and said that the power to launch the "early warning" mechanism for failure to respect subsidiarity should be available to both...
