Debate on Friday on content and funding of co-operation on border protection and illegal immigration

Brussels, 26/03/2003 (Agence Europe) - In Friday's informal Council of Veria, the Home Affairs Ministers of the Fifteen will discuss the co-operation they intend to implement to protect the external boundaries of the European Union, and to fight illegal immigration. How the costs of these policies will be spread out, and an increase in the Community budget contribution (very small up to now), will feature on the agenda (see EUROPE of 25 March, p.9).
