Luxembourg, 29/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Fifth Chamber of the European Court of First Instance rejected on grounds of inadmissibility the action initiated by the Japanese cigarette manufacturer, Japan Tobacco. The latter called for cancellation of Article 7 of Directive 2001/37/EC on the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco products. Japan Tobacco affirms that the article prevents it from using the brand name "Mild Seven" in the European Union.
