Brazil disputes EU's customs and sanitary provisions for poultry

Brussels, 11/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - Brazil is contemplating disputing in Geneva certain customs provisions that substantially increase the price of its deliveries of salted poultry meat onto the European market. According to the local press, the authorities hope, through the World Trade Organisation and its dispute settlement procedure, to push the Union to stop reclassifying these deliveries in the customs nomenclature, a change that increased the levies from 15 to 102.4%.
