Permanent Forum calls on Members to be "pioneers" and requests a citizen consultation mechanism

Brussels, 04/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - At the end of March, Jacqueline de Groote and Raymond Van Ermen forwarded to the Members of the Convention on the Future of Europe a first contribution of the Permanent Forum of the Civil Society. This mainly affirms that the Convention must be a "breakthrough towards a Union which places the individual person at the heart of its project and fills the gap" that exists between the institutions and citizens by "synergies".
