Fontaine will not be running for presidency of future Convention

Brussels, 24/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - In answer to questions put to her during a press conference on the sidelines of the summit in Brussels, on the subject of possibly standing for the presidency of the future Convention to prepare the EU's new institutional reform, Nicole Fontaine stressed that, from 1 January 2002, she will no longer be President of the European Parliament and will be no more than an MEP.
