24/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - The latest Eurobarometer survey, carried out in September, confirms that, just 99 days from changeover to the euro, the information reaching Europeans on the subject of single currency is improving. According to this survey (to which EUROPE will return), only 8% of those questioned within the euro-zone do not know the exact date when single currency will be introduced, compared to 46% in September 2000. Furthermore, 55% of those taking part in the survey now consider they are well informed about transition to the euro (+2% compared to the previous survey). Eurobarometer, however, also confirms the difficulties encountered mainly by small traders and SMEs (see also EUROPE of 19 September, p.10).
