In Washington on Thursday, Verhofstadt to speak on behalf of 28 countries

Brussels, 24/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - Saturday morning, the President of the EU Council, Louis Michel, received the ambassadors of the thirteen countries candidates for membership of the European Union to brief them on the European Council held in Brussels on Friday, and to ask them, as agreed by the Heads of State or Government of the Fifteen, if they would associate themselves with the conclusions of the Summit.
