He passage to the Euro has not yet provoked massive price hikes in Germany

Brussels, 06/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - Contrary to what has been observed in France (See Europe 3 September, page 13), the German Statistics Office stated on Wednesday that no excessive impact on prices has occurred in Germany. Since April 2000, this organisation, together with the Bundesbank, have been analysing the prices of 18,000 different consumer goods. Its conclusions have so far been unable to conclude that any abusive practices concerning price rises and the passage to the single...
