Brussels, 03/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - Sweden took up the six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 1 January 2001, and its first working session of the half-year will be the traditional meeting between the new Presidency and the European Commission, on Tuesday 9 January in Stockholm.
