FRANCE TELECOM will be raising from 46.1% to 71.25% its stake in the Egyptian operator MOBINIL (1.2 million subscribers at end 2000 with turnover of 1.91 billion Egyptian pounds in 1999) for USD 252 million. The American firm MOTOROLA has sold its 35% share, of which 25.15% to FRANCE TELECOM and the remainder to the Egyptian conglomerate ORASCOM, which now owns 28.75%.
