Luxembourg, 03/01/2001 (Agence Europe) - According to the statistics published by the European Statistical Office, Eurostat, on 3 January, the unemployment rate in the EU as a whole fell to 8.1% in November 2000 from 8.2% in October. In November a year earlier it was 8.9%. In the Euro-zone, the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 8.8% in November 2000 compared to October 2000.
