ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) telecommunications

The British operator BT will be buying the 10% share owned by Norway's TELENOR in the German group VIAG INTERKOM. Having already concluded an agreement for the acquisition of the 45% owned by E.ON, BT will thus move from 90% to full ownership. TELENOR also intends to sell its 49.5% share in Ireland's ESAT DIGIFONE to BT for USD 1.237 million. Inversely, it has an option for the acquisition of BT's 50% share in Sweden's TELENORDIA.
