Brussels, 19/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Council has agreed to extend until 2003 the system for remuneration of European officials, which will allow the European Commission, as it had hoped, to present a global package of proposals on the statute of its personnel, not only for salary but also retirement pensions. A communication will be proposed early January 2001 and discussed with the staff, then a formal proposal will be made end 2001.
