Swiss group ZURICH FINANCIAL SERVICES (gross volume of premiums $48 billion in 1999 with 68,000 employed and a foothold in over 60 countries) is to create with the Brazilian bank BANCO MERCANTIL of São Paulo a joint venture in the insurance field called FINASA ZURICH SEGUROS E PREVIDENCIA.
