EP calls for equal participation of women in initiatives aimed at peaceful conflict resolution

Brussels, 01/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted the report tabled by Swedish Social-Democrat Maj Britt Theorin on the participation of women in peaceful conflict resolution, which it debated at its session in Strasbourg. Parliament stresses both the vulnerability of women in crisis situations and their ability to contribute to initiatives in favour of reconstruction and normalisation.
