UM - UNION MINIERE (turnover over BF 129 billion in 1999 with some 8,000 employed) has acquired Australian LARVIK PIGMENT, the leading world producer of high quality zinc dust with a turnover of Aus$ 83 million over the past 12 months and 150 employed. The latter's activities will be integrated into UM ZINC CHEMICALS whose sales of zinc dusts and oxides will now represent nearly 130,000 tonnes annually.
