01/12/2000 (Agence Europe) - On the occasion of a hearing organised by the EP's Committee on Budgetary Control, Raymond Kendall, member of Olaf's Surveillance Committee (European Anti-Fraud Office), and Franz-Hermann Bruner, Olaf Director, denounced the Office's lack of independence. The former deplored the fact that Olaf had inherited the personnel, structure and methods of Uclaf, the latter spoke of European Commission interference in recruiting Olaf staff.
