Belgium wrong to compel importers of nutriment-containing foods to features labelling specific to the belgian market

Luxembourg, 20/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - Importers of nutriment-containing foodstuffs are no longer required to ensure their products feature special labelling for the Belgian market. The EU's Court of Justice recently found against Belgium for insisting that labels on these products should include the notification number of a file submitted to the Ministry of Public Health.
