Aid to Uganda to help eradicate "ebola" and Malaria

Brussels, 20/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has given the go-ahead to Euro 810,000 worth of humanitarian aid for Uganda. 250,000 is earmarked to help the country cope with an outbreak of hemorrhagic fever, caused by the Ebola virus, in the Gulu district. 560,000 is intended to help combat malaria and promote hygiene among vulnerable members of the population (roughly 80,000 people) displaced in the northern and western parts of the country owing to the guerrilla war being waged by...
