ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) medical

ORGANON, the human healthcare business of the Dutch-Swedish pharmaceutical and chemicals group AKZO NOBEL, is to invest 44 million euro in two pharmaceutical product plants in the United States. Furthermore, AKZO NOBEL is in search of a taker for its diagnostics business ORGANON TEKNIKA (530 million euro turnover in 1999). AKZO NOBEL is also said to be considering merging it with the diagnostics branch of another group.
