The British operator VODAFONE will spend USD 2.5 billion to acquire the shares recently issued by the Hong Kong operator CHINA MOBILE, enabling it to increase to around 2% of the capital. Furthermore, the two groups have signed a letter of intent foreseeing an strategic alliance in order to "explore the possibilities for joint investments or possible stakes in other companies".
