Commission pursues infringement proceedings against three Member States for ongoing failure to comply with bathing water directive

Brussels, 28/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - Ongoing infringement by Spain, the United Kingdom and Sweden of Community legislation on the quality of bathing waters (Council Directive 76/160/EEC) has led the European Commission to move into the next stage of the infringement proceedings under way against each of these Member States.
