Brussels, 26/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has referred Spain to the Court of Justice for failing to recover aid of 18,451 billion pesetas (some 111 million euro) to the shipyards of the public holding company Sociedad Estatal de Participationes Industriales (SEPI). In October 1999, the Commission had declared this aid, in the form of special tax credits paid in 1998, to be illegal, and had called on Spain to recover the aid, with interest, within two months.
