Eurostat decision on statistical processing for receipts resulting from mobile telephone licences (UMTS) should not slow Member States attempts to reduce budgetary deficits

Luxembourg/Brussels, 26/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The recent decision from the EU Statistical office (Eurostat) defining the common rules to be applied by the Member States over the allocation of mobile telephone licences (UMTS) should not change the attitude of the Member States with regard to budgetary deficits.
