Commission proposes making animal feed safer through tougher controls, introduction of a rapid alert system and possibility of adoption of protection measures

Brussels, 22/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has adopted a proposal for a Council and European Parliament directive on strengthening the safety of animal feed and, thereby, food safety in the Union, by remedying the shortcomings of current legislation, which came to light during the dioxin crisis.
