ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) internet

INFORMATION HIGHWAY (Sweden) and CONNECTA, which are in the process of merging (see EI of 26 February), have announced the acquisition of Germany's BERENS (Internet consulting). The operation will be financed through the flotation of 16.3 million new shares in INFORMATION HIGHWAY, valuing BERENS at SEK 1.9 billion. BERENS had turnover of DEM 11 million in 1999 with a workforce of 130.
