CASINO (France) has bought its partner DAIRY FARM's 50% stake in their joint venture DFI GEANT, which operates two "Géant" supermarkets, for USD 17.5 million. Further to this operation, it will be setting up a 50-50 joint venture with FAR EASTERN, in which it will invest USD 80 million, contributing the two "Géants". FAR EASTERN GEANT is expected to have turnover of USD 585 million; it will operate 10 supermarkets in Taiwan.
