Court clarifies procedures for marketing of genetically modified products

Luxembourg, 21/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The precautionary principle is fully taken into account by Community law, declares the European Court of Justice in its ruling on the Greenpeace and genetically engineered maize affair. The Member States which forwarded to the Commission a dossier with favourable opinion for the marketing of GMOs must keep to their opinion and apply the Commission decisions.
