Council welcomes initiatives aimed at normalising Sudan's relations with Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Uganda

Brussels, 01/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Portuguese Presidency of he Council has published the following declaration on behalf of the European Union:

The European Union welcomes the recent steps towards normalisation of bilateral relations between Sudan and its neighbours, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Uganda, and reaffirms the importance of a constructive dialogue aiming at stability and co-operation in the region.
