Council enriches and provides details for the manufacture of coins

Brussels, 01/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The EcoFin council meeting on Monday chaired by the Portuguese Finance Minister adopted conclusions relating to aspects connected to the sngle currency, these were:

a) Euro coins for collectors. So as to enable these collectors coins to be easily distinguished from real euros placed into circulation, the Council decided on certain rules they will have to conform to. As an example, the face value will have to be different to the eight values provided...
