Commission considers creating a name for Europe's own site on the Internet

Brussels, 01/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is examining the possibility of introducing an ".eu." site on the internet. The Commission should be deciding on Wednesday to launch a 6-week consultation period on the possibility of creating a site, before proceeding with placing a request with ICANN (Internet Corporation for the Assigned Names and Numbers).
