New procedure towards Portugal for failing to comply with Court of Justice decision on drinking water

Brussels, 13/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to send Portugal a "reasoned opinion" inviting it to implement, post haste, a ruling by the Court of Justice (June 1998) which notes that this Member State did not have an action plan aiming to improve the quality of surface water to be used as drinking water.
