ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) satellites

The American aeronautics and defence group BOEING is said to be about to buy the satellite division of HUGHES ELECTRONICS (GM -GENERAL MOTORS). With 8,000 employees, this division has turnover of around USD 2.3 billion, i.e. 40% of the firm's total sales. Analysts estimate that the transaction is worth between USD 2 and 3 billion.
