Brussels, 13/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - Community circles acted positively to the decision by the Turkish government to postpone Mr Öcalan's execution. Mrs Fontaine, President of the European Parliament, defined it as a "small step in the right direction", which proves that the Turkish authorities are more sensitive than before to the European demands on protection of human rights.
