ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) technology

The cable television company UPC -UNITED PAN-EUROPE COMMUNICATION- intends to take over KOT, the cable business of the Dutch energy firm ENECO, for around NLG 2 billion. Further, UPC is negotiating the acquisition of a share in the Belgian operator TELENET, in which fellow Belgian firm ESSENT and BRITISH TELECOM are also interested. Some sources are reporting that UPC has bid around FEB 150 billion for the share.
