Brussels, 13/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - Through a large majority, the EPP/ED Group appointed Elmar Brok (German, CDU) as European Parliament observer for the Intergovernmental Conference. Immediately after his appointment, Mr. Brok placed emphasis on the fact that the IGC should not be limited to the Amsterdam leftovers alone.
