Brussels, 13/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The "European Liaison Committee on Services of General Interest" recommends the recognition and creation of such services at European level. In addition, the place of general interest services should be recognised in the "Charter of Fundamental Rights" for Union citizens, which is currently being drawn up.
