Wrapping and straps used on pallets during transport, exempt from EU’s new 100% reuse requirement

On Wednesday 25 February, the European Commission adopted a delegated act exempting wrapping and straps, used to secure goods on pallets during transport, from the new 100% reuse requirement, according to a press release.

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) previously imposed a 100% reuse target for these two elements when used within the same company or between companies in the same Member State. “These two elements are now exempt from this rule”.
