22/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, 21 January, the European Commission published a regulation so as to require Chinese imports of new rubber tyres used on buses, lorries, and light passenger vehicles to be registered. In November 2025, the European Commission had initiated an anti-subsidy proceeding regarding these imports following a complaint lodged by a coalition of manufacturers representing more than 25% of the EU’s total production of tyres for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. This registration procedure will potentially make it possible for countervailing duties to be retroactively levied on the imports that are subject to registration—if the necessary conditions are met. Any future duties will be the result of the anti-subsidy investigation’s findings. To see the regulation: https://aeur.eu/f/kcv (PLD)
